Off-grid with room to grow: a Felicity system with a panel upgrade
Mifraz's house runs off-grid. A Felicity 5 kW inverter and a 14.3 kWh lithium iron phosphate power wall carry the household, and the grid steps in only as a bypass when the battery reaches its cutoff overnight. In September 2026 the array was extended, and the monitoring shows the difference.

Four panels added in series
In September 2026 four Jinko Tiger Neo 640 W bifacial panels were wired in series with the existing string. The effect is plain in the data: peak solar input rose from about 3.1 kW to about 5.5 kW, and the string voltage moved from the 210 to 250 V range to 370 to 452 V.
What the monitoring showed
A higher string voltage brings the array closer to the inverter's PV input limit, so the voltage is watched against that limit. On 14 October 2026, after about 45 minutes at 4.6 to 5.1 kW, the inverter tripped once on PV over-temperature. It was restarted, and the trip has not repeated.
Monitoring is through DessMonitor, the cloud service for this inverter, and our platform reads it every day for production and alarms. A trip like the one in October is seen the same day.
Still on the watch list
- The string voltage, against the inverter's PV input limit.
- PV temperature during long runs near full output, after the single trip on 14 October 2026.
